Location and camping of this ride will be at the Wells Gray Golf course. Day rides will be into beautiful Wells Gray Park. Rides can vary between 3 hours and 10 hours, your choice, with stunning scenery along and above Clearwater River. For those in your group that would like to partake in a game of golf, we will be immediately adjacent the golf course.

Camping is in a large 8-10 acre mowed field with flush toilets and hot showers available at no charge for registered participants. Also there are a couple of cabins available but would require booking immediately through the golf course (250-674-0009). A larger creek flows along one side and a large pond opposite, just in case a serious cooling is needed. This tends to be a hot time of our year. The rides will be under tree canopy so you will have shade the majority of the time. This is also higher altitude which also cools the weather. There are 20 paddocks available on a first come basis, highline and your own panels are acceptable, no charge.

A concession will be on site for the weekend and a pot luck supper is planned for one of the afternoon/evening dinners. As the title suggests, this is a theme weekend and as it is Canada’s 150th birthday, our theme is 1867. We have budgeted $500.00 to prizes for participants best efforts (dress, tent, horses, whatever/however). This is just a fun weekend so bring your instruments for an evening singalong.

Registration:

Registration will be available on Eventbrite by January 15, 2017. This event is limited to 50 participants/horses on a first registered basis, so book early to guaranty your place.

Participants must be Back Country Horsemen of BC members and registered with Horse Council BC to join the ride (not necessary if horseless).

Cost:  $20.00/day/person plus $10.00/day paddock/corral fee (optional)
